Any more trappers around? (Problem with the one in saint denis)

Progression-wise, im currently in sanit denis, and i saw this trapper vendor and wanted to buy a couple outfits. I went and got myself required perfect pelts, stored them on my horse. Then i found out i cant get my horse close enough to the guy to buy anything from him. Thought maybe i have to sell them to him first and then i can buy those chaps, did that, found out it wasnt the case.

Hitch your horse outside the market, walk in, sell -
Trapper Says:
"OK, let's have a look"
A picture of your inventory comes up.
The Horse Inventory is the little Saddle Icon.
Sell it to him right off the horse.
Same with Pearson.

If that's not working - verify your game files - something is broken or corrupted.
Also, I guess the pelts could be rotten. <---never actually had that happen, tho.

There's a bug where the pelts are 'stuck' on the horse, you can see them, but not from the inventory menu.

You must sell items to the Trapper before he can craft anything for you.
If something takes several pelts, he will keep track of what you have sold him so no need to try to gather everything at once.

I was trying to get one of those chaps that requires only 1 perfect deer pelts, i brought even 2. Sold to him and just got money for them, nothing else. The chap still wasnt purchasable after that. Will fiddle around bit more once im back home from work.

Where they actually 3 Star Pelts?

Shooting a 3 Star Deer with a Repeater ruins it. If you're carrying the Legendary Buck Antler Trinket you might salvage a perfect pelt, but the Trinket only gains back 1 Star from an incorrect weapon kill. If you've blasted a 3 Star Down to 1 Star, the Trinket will only produce a 2 Star Pelt and that's not good enough for the Trapper.

He'll buy any pelt, but can only use a 3 Star to Craft with.

Several things can go sideways.

Yeah i picked out the 3 stars animals and used the recommended weapons to hunt them. Don't know if there's any other factor, but at least the pelt has "perfect" at the begin of its name.

While looking for prey at various places i actually ended up hunting 2 legendary animals too. Used one to get a hat from the trapper.

It just takes one perfect deer pelt.
You can probably stick one in the head with a regular arrow while standing at the trapper - any place other than St. Denis..lol

And there's always the chance that the Deer pelts went with something else to make something else. I think you need about 20 of them at the Trapper. They're used in a whole bunch of articles. Pearson needs about 8 of them.
