Turn back on auto dead eye targeting?

Game turned on manual mode for a story mission I hate it, how do I get auto back?

I believe manual dead eye targeting is considered an upgrade over auto targeting. I do not think there is a way to go back to auto once you can do manual. Hey I could be wrong though.

Autotag is the apex of Developer Nonsense.

Kills Women, Children, Dogs, Cats, Horses, Mules - and leaves 3 bad guys standing - tags Cougar Ear Tips, Tails, Feet, Elk Antlers, ect., ruining pelts and angering alpha predators.

Dead Eye Master - usually employed to SKIP Autotag, but can be employed to go back to it.

Build your stats.
Complete the challenges.
Get that reinforced equipment.
Upgrade your satchel.
Get those Dead Eye Trinkets and Talismans secured.
A full Dead Eye tank - and a bag full of Special Snake Oil - and you'll have Dead Eye to Spare.

Until then - Split Point Ammo uses 10% less Dead Eye than Brand X Ammo.

Head to the swamp - start dispatching gators - they won't even run away if you use an Improved Arrow instead of a Cannon.

You don't have to tag every enemy. Just pick a couple at a time - the ones closest to you and work your way out. Short Bursts of Dead Eye uses a lot less. You can swill Snake Oils and not mess up the mission - Snake Oils are NOT Health Items. Guzzle all you want.

Auto tag is great for duck fat farming and bottle/bird competitions, other than that you won't miss it.
