2. Look for a file <API>kSettingAPI_DX12</API>
3. Now Change step 2 into <API>kSettingAPI_Vulkan</API>
4. Save it and start up your game!
Try this out! I played for 2 hours straight no crashes, but must I remind you, I still haven't teamed up with a friend online. I usually experienced crashes of this type whenever I teamed-up with a friend of mine

this crash is not Dx12 only thing, it also happens on Vulkan

I think i have found a fix and I havent got a crash after this so far.

I play the game in Vulkan so IDK if this works for DX12

I have "Pre Caching on in Steam for Vulkan" and also for some reason I found that Rockstar games hate Overlays either discord or Steam. So i turned of Steam Overlay for Red Dead 2 and so far i havent faced a single crash for a day. Will keep testing and let you guys know

So,

1. Turn off Steam overlay (or anykind of Overlay just for this game) for Red Dead 2
*Goto Library right-click Red Dead 2 Properties>General>Un-Check Steamoverlay*
2. Turn on Steam Pre-Caching on for Vulkan
*Steam>Settings>Shader Pre-Caching>Check both box*
3. Run the game in Vulkan

Hope it works and let me know if it fixed for all of you

I found another bug, setting small camp in Big valley is also causing crashes, not immediately for if you play for 30-40 minutes

Happened to me just talking to a butcher, it has gotten worse at least for me then it was a week ago. Doubt I will log into anymore unless this issue gets fixed.

From what some people are saying, it is probably linked to rockstar trying to load something. The higher your memory, the less often you get it, but everyone is getting it eventually. The way for us to avoid it seems to be having the best system possible but running at minimum settings.

It definitely seems like something Rockstar really should be chasing down and trying to fix within days rather than months.

Nevermind, just tried turning settings way down and still got the error almost automatically near a shack in Ambarino. Some places just can't load without an error right now and then some places the game tries to load something and fails terribly. Still something Rockstar shouldn't have let stay in for more than a few days.

I assume we will get a fix in months, as Rockstar sees this game as the bastard stepchild and ignore it

I found that updating your G driver and Steam it happens less. However, here's the kicker. Is it just me or does this FFFFFFFF code happen when you have a lot of lost on crash product? H mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm go figure.

Stopped playing until we hear of a fix. Honestly it could be the latest flurry of windows patches, MS did admit to causing fps issues in games this last couple of months. Might not be RS at all.
