Did you check the stables?
Of course I did. I could get the same one for free (special edition), but no horses owned. My saddle was replaced to the new horse so I didn't lose that.
Getting the same horse twice didn't feel ok so I decided to catch one myself.
It's just weird the game didn't tell me my horse died (and I didn't see it happen either), but the circumstances totally allow for it: I was circled while on horseback out in the open... pretty efficient trap.
And it called the scrawny nag my horses name several times before just going back to normal.
Twas then that I realized that poor old Horsey died when I died in a shootout. Felt heartbreaking man.
