I've been having issues aswell but i applied some of the following steps below and the game isn't crashing anymore, hoping this might help you aswell, trying can't hurt at this point i guess.
I have disabled SteamOverlay. Running my graphicscard on factory clock speed. And lastly apllied -ignorepipelinecache to my launch options for RDR2 on steam.
Good luck! Have a good one.
Windows 10 Issues
[Grand Theft Auto V]: The game frequently crashes.
NVIDIA is working with the application developer to resolve the issue.
I wonder if they should mention the same is happening to RDR2. I know the engines and stuff are different but who knows what library or whatever they are calling from GTA V, it might be the same as RDR2.
I've been dealing with the same problem everyone else seems to be dealing with, and it started happening when i turned Enhanced Sync ON, now that i turned it off, its back to working like it normally did, so HERE'S THE RIGHT ANSWER!
Thank you Leonardo.
I gave up on troubleshooting because i'm certain it's an issue with the game. Rockstar has released atleast 20 fixes alone just for different types of crashes. All the tickets i've sent only received an automatic response so far. I'm not sure if they'll ever fix this or atleast give a solution to fix it.
1.Hit windows button + R..a pop up window will show up write in this pop up window %temp% then hit enter now a folder will show up just delete all files within this folder
2.go to documents --->Rockstar games ---> red dead redemption 2 and search for a file call "xml" when you find it just delete it
