Yeah, of course. you're right. I mixed up Texas and New Mexico there for a moment. Texas, of course, is east of New Mexico, and therefore adjacent to Louisiana. It's what I meant. My bad. And I didn't play RDR1 by the way, so I have no knowledge about the states, as they were, in that game.
I've been to Texas, albeit a long time ago but I didn't get Texas vibes from New Austin and I've heard native Texans say it's not Texas, it's more like Arizona, Utah, Nevada that area.
Hm, okay. Thanks. Arizona, Utah, Nevada... Assuming that we choose go with that, that would more or less bring Dutch's gang back to the west... That said, don't give any spoilers about the wheres and the hows. I'm only halfway in the game. :)
Never played much with the GTA series myself. If you read my original post, I do mention 4 real states possibly put into New Hanover alone. I'm sure there can be opinions about that, one way or another, but the point is that I was always on that line - that the states in game are not necessarily directly based on a specific real state. They blur and overlap, if that makes sense. It's more a matter of forming a fairly accurate general idea where we are relative to the real world 1900. And I was just interested in seeing other people's take on it, especially those who live there or know more about it, to see if they roughly aligned with my own take on it ;)
