Recommended CPU?
I'm using an i5 4460 which causes alot of stutters in this game. I'm gonna upgrade it along with my RAM (only 8 gb atm), however I've seen posts from people with better specs having issues with performance regardless. Is there any specific recommended future proof CPUs that handles this game well?

so im going to give you 1 example of something i can say with 100% being sure of.
Im a budget gamer, and im running it with a ryzen 5 2600 stock speeds, that's a 130-150 euro cpu. with 6 core's 12 threads at +- 3.8ghz.
And im using average of 50 to 80% cpu amongst all my 12 threads equally divided.
Hope this gives you a id how cpu demanding this game is.
In fast

My other hardware is rtx 2060, and 16gb 3200mhz ram. and samsung 860 ssd.

So i would say to be 100% sure it runs decent i wouldnt go lower then that in cpu,
so ryzen 5 2600, 3600, 3700 (amd is cheap in mid segment.) - Intel, i5 9600k and upwards (intel is a bit more expensive vs performance but better in highest segments,)

i7 4770 non k @3.9 16gb fastest ram board can handle and a 1070 ti... default settings balanced... lots of ultra junk is by default... getting 60+fps no dips or drops @1080p game runs great. can break 90+ without vsync

I personally think the game is coded/ported badly, its not your cpu that is the problem. Future updates should hopefully fix this. I have an overclocked i5 8600k, 16gb ram and a 12gb gtx1080ti and the game still struggles...

yeah I've noticed some settings can really tank your frames tho... which is super easy to do! "I have gaming pc" Ultra x16 Everything.. Nvidia control panel 100x resolution increase... Touch every single option even if you don't understand what it does.... end up Getting 20fps come here and complain ugh...

Why can't i play this on my 750ti @ 2.0x resolution??? It's a gaming rig!!! Ugh I paid money I should be able to play this on my computer regardless of what anyone thinks!

/s

tldr

We're doomed.

I personally would say this game is over engineered, for the average game hardware in 2019, it looks much better then on Xbox-Playstation, but it also uses way more resources.

Is the game badly optimized yes and no, depends how you look at it, if you compare the graphics to for example battlefield 5, this game looks way better so i would expect it to require more power to run.

Or you could say yea its very un-optimized and battlefield 5 also runs like a pile of ♥♥♥♥ ;)

What are the general settings you're playing on?

This game isn't CPU intensive.

8GB of RAM isn't much, game uses 10GB here

Ran some tests with MSI Afterburner and my CPU often reaches 90+ % with this game. The timing also aligns with the stuttering. Turning off background apps doesn't do much.

Did you try tweaking the game?

For me 90% isn't an issue what about memory usage, do you monitor it too with AB ? You may have "swap file" issues. Windows on SSD ?

Ryzen 5 2600 is a great CPU. This game is only using 30-40% on 6 of 12 cores.

Ehm. So how did you come to this conclusion? I'm running a 4790k@4.4 ghz, and the game uses 99% capacity on all physical and threaded cpu's.

Got a new ryzen 3700x heading my way now. First cpu upgrade in many, many years.

Looking at task manager, performance tab,

I5-6600K around 60-70% (replaced now by I7 on new PC due to 4 cores issues related at launch, I'll gift old one ! One stone 2 birds)
