Paying a social call bug / glitch

Not sure whether this is related to the most recent update or not - but I have a problem that's stopping my progression in the game.

In the mission "Paying A Social Call" where Kieran takes you to a cabin in the woods, you stealth kill a few O'Driscolls and then get in to a firefight. Once the firefight is finished,you go over to the door, a cutscene plays, you're then instructed to "Search the cabin". It's at this point the problems begin.

I can't do anything. Literally, I can't do a thing. I can't pick anything up. I can't take the shotgun off the wall. I can't loot anything. I can't even mount my horse. Even the pause menu doesn't load properly, when I try, no options are presented and the game freezes in that state. I've tried running off to fail the mission so I can restart from a checkpoint and it just crashes the game.

Have retried the mission 3 times and it's the same result every time. Is no-one else experiencing this? I can't find anyone with anything similar either here nor on Reddit.

It's such a shame that this PC port is so lacking cause I was really enjoying the game itself. But the Steam overlay not loading properly 9 times out of 10 upon booting the game, the terrible performance and now this progression blocking bug are starting to taint my experience of what would evidently be a phenomenal game if it actually worked. This is the first time I've ever come across something like this myself in a game!

Hi, I am having the exact same issue. Did you find a way to resolve this?

I had to verify my game files (done from the "Local Files" tab in game properties) to get this working again!

Thanks! One file was missing... reaquired and working great now!
