Patch download Game won´t Start anymore

Steam downloaded the Patch today and now i cannot start the Game anymore. Its crashing all the time. err_gfx_state ! wtf is this ?! Any fix ?

Got the same message too after the patch. Did Rockstar know how to patch their godamn game?

Go to your documents folder and find Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Settings and delete the sga files. Should get it running again but you will probably get the same problem further down the line.

The whole game is broken .. This is the badest Pc portation i ever seen.

Yes i had the same problem. my game crashed sometimes and iff i deleted the SGA files it worked again. But i changed the graphics setiings from Vulkan into DirectX and the game didnt crash since

After doing that fix and making an exception in windows defender for the RDR2 game folder its been working perfectly for me and it is an amazing game when you can get it going. Fair enough Rockstar have dropped the ball and we shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get the game working but ♥♥♥♥ happens. Especially so since they have had a month of it being available on other platforms to get their ♥♥♥♥ together.

Seems there are reports on another thread that this update has broken the sga file fix so that sucks.

I had to verify my files to get the game to launch again and that seems 2 have fixed the issue... although I still cant get online to work :(

run the game, when the error comes go to save mode and the game started. In the options - graphics menu change the setting from vulkan to DirectX 12. Close the game and restart it from Steam. Now it Works.

Glad you got it working. I will bear this fix in mind in case my copy does the same after the update!

Thanks. I try this method. It work but somehow it gets error again when I try relaunch again after playing my load saved.

After couple try, It works fine now. I dunno what the hell how. But hopefully it won't come back again
