Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

View Stats:
GTX 1080 / i7 7700k @1080p (60 FPS Settings)
I saw a few people trashing the game for its performance, so I thought I'd share my personal settings to try.

I tried every setting and compared them with screenshots and FPS-costs.
These settings are better than the XBX1 settings and you won't notice much of a difference while playing.

Of course you can put a few settings higher, if you have a better graphics card.

i have 32 gigs of ram and an nvidia 1080 8 gig GPU. and i get 60 plus frames all on ultra , smooth as smooth can be. strange some gamers have a similar set up and experience performance problems ?!

These settings are for constant 60 FPS, not for reaching it.

u can max out basic ssao, and tree Q. they dont have much of a diffrence perforemance wise unless u enable full res ssao and tree tesselation. set fur Q to high 1-2 fps drop while skinnig an animal is worth the graphics. Also grass lev of detail could go 5-6 without a visible impact for me.
ım on 1060 and switch global illumination between med(45 and above)- high(32-40) 1080 should keep up with high illumination. check it out especially in the wilderness and decide if illumination is worth for ya

How come I dont belive that Dabo. I have i7.6700 32GB ram 1080 and I do 1440p if I set everthing to Ultra my fps would simply die. My setup is more similar to Darth settings wise and Iam getting a solid 60fps but in wilderless 70 to 80fps

I actually saw some bigger fps hits (3-5 fps) with tree quality higher than low at some instances. That's why I put it on low, 'cuz it matches the XBX1 setting.

Fur quality makes only sense to me, if you are using the first person mode.
The artifacts you'll notice on low are only present from near angles.

I'm using these settings to have 60 FPS in every town, so some compromises had to be made.
When it only comes to wildeness, then yeah, I could max a few more settings here and there.

imo for singleplayer u dont need solid 60 but thats ur choice

Yes, and that's why I love PC gaming. You can choose how you want to play.

Nice thing. Which settings would you recommend to change with the same rig but an 9700k?

Based on the video from Digital Foundry, I'd say CPU doesn't change that much.

Maybe some LoD settings higher.
But as I can't test it, I'd say trial and error.

I'd like to play this game on PC too.

Hopefully not an Epic Store only exclusive again, but I have a feeling it'll be that way.

show you how ? youtube ? you will have to forgive me i dont stream or upload to youtube. actually what i said is true apart from i lowered the quality of the water effects (sorry my mistake). the amount of people having problems with rigs well above my spec , proves there is an underlying problem. hardware is not the issue it seems.
