And i dont object people who like Adler; after all, almost anything in life is subjective.
I do however have an issue when ppl pretend as if her character and its development was objectively well designed and suitable for the role she plays in the game.
Not sure if Id compare Typhoid Mary with Adler as the first did not deliberately kill people. Also, i wouldnt agree with your second statement. I remeber saving Tilly once, Ms Grimshaw, Molly and Mary-Beth not a single time; disregarding the fact of course that you can do favours for them. And none of these women have a voice that comes remotely close to that of Adler.
well it's still your issue then and not the one of those who are the opinon of her being well designed ;-)
You should learn to accept that your point of view is not the only valid one.
As you said, it's totally subjective.
But from an objective point of view her characters' development is comprehensible at least to me. Maybe to others as well.
I mean like she said in the game: she was happy with her life before her husband has been killed and her farm got burned down.
She lost everything from one moment to the other. And I think R* did a decent job in showing her transformation from a broken grieving widow into a angry feral avenger
I would agree with you, if i were the only person not happy with the character. But thats apparently not the case. I am not delusional in thinking that any of my complaints would make a difference, cause of course they dont. The game is still amazing. If you tell me my view of the character is flaws, then please tell me what Ive overlooked, what is there more to her that I havent noticed.
If you feel like her character development was sufficiently fleshed up, then great for you ;-)
In that dandy fancy dress she wears in the end credits?
Honestly, Ms Grimshaw. But unfortunately....
Karen would be too distracting and John would get shot because he wouldn't be able to to stop staring at her tits, Mary Beth is too sweet, Tilly runs away from trouble and Abigail moans too much about violence.
But don't underestimate her. Do you remember the last missiaon were she got kidnapped?
She can be pretty badass and you probably don't want her as an enemy
I don't think Tilly would be a good fit, she's one of the only people in the gang to remain postive through everything she's been through, seeing her finally getting a peaceful life at the end made me happy. Yeah she can be tough when she wants to but she's still too pure to me, I wouldn't want her to go down that path.
I hope my rant about subjectivity is clear here. I din't like Arthur at all personally, but I still finished the game, and I had to put up with his crap a lot more than Sadie's crap, so, meh, I'm sure you will get over it.
Cool icecream metaphors but if you really wanna go down that path you should at least mention cherry icecream.
Also, vanilla + strawberries is very tasty, especially if you warm them up a bit. The differences in temperature as well as in taste (the sour fruitiness of the strawberries in contrast to the sweet vanilla ice) makes it quite interesting and enjoyable! However, strawberry icecream is something very different! Some crazy ppl (me included) like to combine different icecream types like strawberry, citrus, and other fruits in one package. Moreover, i feel like chocolate icecream is overrated and boring. The better ones include at least some small chocolate chips. However, i would always recommend combining it with something contrasting its sweetness. For ppl disliking fruits in general, coffee flavored icecream or liquor wroks fine.
Now, if this wasnt an icecream metaphor but a pudding one, I feel like there is a change in society these days. When i was a child, only chocolate pudding was the real deal, everything else a disgrace. These days, it seems like ppl give the more underrated vanilla pudding a fair shot. And it can be a real treat, if real vanilla flavor was used!
For real tho, you must be the first person i get to know that dislikes Arthur. i am tempted to say that he as a character (and also the performance of the actor) were universally positively received and acclaimed. So props to you for finshing the game, as the story is very long and Arthur is after all the main protagonist.
It may even seem that there are people who dislike icecream altogether.
Blasphemer!
This is madness!
How dare you!?
You son of a.... Actually I agree here, coffee in particular can be pretty amazing.
Again back to the blaspheming madness!
Could be, I'm sure I'm not alone, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is the most popular rockstar protagonist, I just found him to be annoyingly silly so frequently, he fell for so many tricks and ruses and just blindly followed Dutch into the dumbest circumstances, which made for some interesting quests I suppose, but that could have been done in other ways. I also didn't like the mission format most of the time so that probably didn't help.
I very much agree here. Especially towards the end when it was obvious how Arthur's path would conclude, he still followed Dutch everywhere blindlessly. He did question Dutch's decisions in the last chapters but what it is that worth if you still follow his pointless plans anyway. Maybe Im wrong here but i dont recall a single Dutch® plan that actually turned out to be good.
