No i dont have a controller connected
Then you could try finding and installing motherboard drivers manually from manufacturer. Install kb/mouse drivers if they have some too. Run some troubleshooters. Try different USB hubs.
Go into your Device Manager settings, go all the way down to ''Universal Serial Bus Controllers'' at the bottom, go to your ''USB Root Hubs'' (you should have more than one), open up their ''Properties'', go over to ''Power Management'', then lastly go down to the ''Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'' option and disable it by unchecking the box. Do that for all the USB Root Hubs.
I used to have issues with my mouse and keyboard disconnecting a few months back when I'd play Mafia 3 and Ghost Recon: Wildlands. It infuriated the hell out of me, too! After doing a bit of research online this was the solution I came across and it worked. Many months later and I haven't had a single issue with my mouse or keyboard disconnecting.
However, when you download new Windows updates sometimes Windows will set those USB Root Hubs back to their default settings by checking the box again. So you might have to go back into those settings every now and then to uncheck those boxes. Small annoyance, but it only takes about 30 seconds to do so it ain't a big deal.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
