You can not sedate birds and very small animals. Shooting the .22 sedative on them will kill them outright.

so you dont have to study them?

Just study by approaching them and hitting the button, take a picture with your camera and skin/pluck, note that it will still make Harriet mad so try not to do it too much at once. You can't sample these small critters as you can't sedate them.

Also sedate and sample the sheep at Emerald Ranch for free money.

Not sure if the upgraded one is required, I have it so I always use that. But you do need to take pictures of all animals if you want to complete the bestiary.

my notice on my self but if you kill small 3 stars birds with standart anmo the animaal quality will digress but if I use Sedative Ammo that not happend. Now i asking myself. Is just better too kill small animaals with sedative anmo?

There's no point in sedating donkeys. Like horses, you cannot sample them. In the same way don't hunt for horses and donkeys, as they won't give you animal parts.

Regular varmint ammo should have the same effect, while being cheaper and easier to obtain.

Also using dead eye increases the chance of a clean kill on small animals.

He means animals not meant to be sedated. Other than for its intended purpose, sedative ammo acts just like regular ammo for shooting bird eggs and whatnot. That's interesting if you're getting 3 star birds with it. I'll have to try that sometime.

yes i kill some big 3 stars birds wich that anmo and the quality will not degress maybe just stubid luck, but this way is quicker if you need some quick tradder '' points''
