How can I join a server?
I've seen youtubers on their own private rp server and I was wondering how do they do this?

Definitely not through any methods that are officially supported by the game. Rockstar hates their RDO players and won’t let them create Private Sessions like you can in GTA.

Maybe there’s some tutorials on YouTube? Sorry, I’m not sure. o_o

to join someone elses session who isnt in your lobby aka server. you must first be friends on the rockstar social club. than you must both be ingame, open online settings and choose prefer to play with friends. than in steam you need to choose to join friends session. ingame you need to invite your friend by clicking the home button that opens rockstar social club ingame menu. than and only than will he be swapped to your lobby, that is if your lucky and it doesnt just crash your game.... and yup rockstar made it THAT convoluted.

as for private servers, i dont think those are a thing, i think your youtube buddy is full of $%#^

They also have free white listing application to join some of them. Sadly it takes a while for you to get accepted.

thats kinda crazy how do they have private servers on a p2p server network. i dont see how thats possible unless they have some stupid strong rigs set up to run it while they play on different PCs

I think you just need a lot of ram, but I've been looking around and people say its something to do with their own launcher.

Look up RedM. it is a mod made by the creators of fivem that lets you connect to servers that can be customised and such. using redm will not get you banned from rdr2 online
