Apparently they didn't think someone wearing starter clothes could afford any decent gun sooo I one shot all of them with the rolling block rifle. they killed me a few times but overall it was straight up embarrassing how they couldn't really do anything meaningful 3vs1 as i just kept mowing them down due to them refusing to take any kind of cover and the game spawning me in good positions to snipe from.
After oneshotting their leader off their horse, my game immediately crashed seconds later.
Now, I should probably mention I don't have the beefiest of PC's to run this game, but it runs smoothly most of the time and crashes are pretty damn rare. Knowing the braindead modders/cheaters of GTA online servers that are still present en masse, I would absolutely not be surprised if they had a way to crash my game once they get salty enough.
5 different modders have crashed my game multiple times since I first started playing online in January. That's because I've caught them cheating, taunted them in the DM (yes, I can't stand them, reason why I'm a target lol), and reported them via the ingame player menu.
The mod menu that these cheaters use can see (probably block aswell) the report I sent to Rockstar and track my IP. They got pissed, crashed my game and followed me after every game restart, just to constantly crash my game, not even trolling my character fist. How do I know if it's them? Well, player list.. I can see their same name joining after the game loaded me in, just a few seconds before they crashed the game. The only way I can escape them is by using VPN/changing the IP. Waiting in the player list for the same guy to come in, but they just stop all of a sudden, along with the game crash.
It would also be useful if there was a 10 second cool down to change from passive and during that cooldown you flash on the map to let other players know what theyre up to.
I had two people try something similar yesterday but because I was indoors and they were just outdoors the guy with the bow fired one arrow, missed (at this point I took out a stick of dynamite) they fired a second and wounded me, I tossed the stick out the door and both got blown up.
This game that came out years after GTAO, made by the same people, somehow has worse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ multiplayer security than GTAO.
And it seems like they've finished their dinner/homework as it's happening again after about an hour.
Definitely a kid, if it's not an issue with game file integrity. However the fact that I restart half way across the map makes me feel like I'm being teleported which is crashing the game.
I did manage to have a pretty fun PvP encounter in the meantime (and I play passively, I even just followed after a rivals wagon to say hi to the guy) when I spawned down at manzanita post. I was checking the map when someone killed me with a carbine repeater.
I headshotted him with a carcano and then his friend roped me (I had no idea they were together) the whole time I was roped I just asked "are you sure you want to do this?" did a few faux attempts at breaking free (or breaking my thumb, button mashing isn't fun) then when he thought I didn't care broke free punched him and unloaded my Mausers into him while he was stunned.
Then gave my signature" ♥♥♥♥ around and find out"
Then he and his friend kept repeatedly running right towards me in what were essentially banzai charges seemingly trying to lasso and hogtie me while I just John Wicked them with my Mausers.
They did shoot but I'd taken a potent health cure so it wasn't exactly effective.
I ended up leaving after killing both of them about 4 or 5 times because I kind of felt bad for them but mainly I was out of ammo.
Though now that I think about it I should have switched to split point ammo.
I need to make a separate funny PvP encounters thread.
Somehow I have a 50 cent (bank breaking, I know) bounty though when they both attacked me.
Pretty much every time I join a bounty mission.
Has there been an update or is it a case of a cheater stalking me and trying to crash me out at every chance?
I've heard other people saying that they suspect that R* or their employees sell the mod menus.
People get their games ruined, they lose streaks and buy gold.
Other people buy the mod menus to ruin peoples games.
I mean the fact that I'm even asking if the problem is due to cheaters/hackers underscores a huge issue with the game and one that is never addressed.
Players having zero faith in developers to this point isn't a good thing. R* have been living the high life off their single player titles but they need to get things together if they want to move into modern gaming.
Yes they can, they spawn endless objects on you till your system cant handle it. Of course now a days you can potentially leave fast enough if you know whats going on, but most dont till its too late and the game crashed or froze.
Player lists are worthless as they can hide themselves and spoof names, here too.
Also Rockstar doesnt care about our happiness and enjoyment, only squeezing micro-transaction sales out of the gullible.
It's interesting the way games urinalists report on cheating in RDRO by saying that cheaters make the game more fun by breaking the monotony and so on.
They don't mention that it's safer to play with a VPN because your IP address is as open as if you were connecting to a webpage.
I love the game world but the handling of this seems like a kid's first vidya project of insecure and incompetent.
Honestly I'm surprised SidAlpha hasn't put them on the Dirty Devs / corpo rats list.
