I can't make small game arrows and it is making me angry-sad
This game seems broken in the weirdest ways. It's hard to tell if it's even broken at all, but the crafting menu at a campfire shows nothing but split point bullets. I don't know if it's supposed to show things I don't have the materials for, I don't know whether or not I have the materials for it. I don't even know whether or not I have the recipe for any of this ♥♥♥♥, because they're in my bag, though I never bought them, and reading them doesn't do anything but it doesn't seem like there's any way to buy them.

I have no idea if anyone else has this problem, but I swear searching for answers turns up nothing at all. At least finding guns wasn't this difficult.

Usually the game only shows the ones that you can make and some options on the right, but it seems you can't read the options to show all of the recipes that you have, it is literally to your right in the UI.
Edit: I guess saying "OMg wHY iS tHis NOt woRkiNG" is easier.

By pressing "F" (i think) while crafting, you will be shown ALL recipes known, and not just the ones you can currently make.

If the recipe shows, you should be able to hover over or select it and you should get feedback about why you can't make it, like missing ingredients or you have a full inventory already.

If the recipe doesn't show, you don't know it.

From what I remember I had this issue, I had this issue because I DIDN'T KNOW THE RECIPE. So, learn the recipe. "You need to now how to craft something before you can?? Wtf guys this is such a broken game!!"

What DargonBlak said and make sure you read the pamphlet. But it'll only show you recipes you have ingredients/materials for by default.

are you talking single player or online mode? not sure about single player, but in online mode i think you need to obtain rank or "level" and once you've gotten there, you qualify to buy a recipe "small game arrows" don't quote me tho, its been a while and i could be misremembering it, early onset of altzheimers.... ;(

I think the main reason I didn't see the key prompt for show all is that it's way out of my central field of view. I only glance over there to confirm the key I need in the moment, so everything else is basically a blur of irrelevance. That's my bad.

I never had to learn the recipe. I don't know why, though I have some uncharitable guesses. I personally find it confusing to have to guess which of the several possibilities is preventing stuff showing up in the crafting menu. That, added to the fact that the recipe says 'feathers' when it actually needs a specific kind of feather, and that even if I was in the menu back when I had some in my bag, the actual arrows won't be on screen because it only shows four options at a time...

Long story short, crafting is a dumb maze with no signposts, but once I had all the recipes shown I could figure out what it actually wanted.

They want flight feathers. When you pluck a bird you get feathers from the bird and the same number of flight feathers.

Glad you got it figured out.

I feel better now about standing there staring at my horse and trying to get my damn shotgun off it just so I could continue the game. Nowhere did I see any option to "grab shotgun" and the game just told me to go to my horse and get my shotgun.

It wasn't until I noticed this teeny tiny little Q & E next to the pistol that I decided to try those and see what would happen. Aha! Now I could grab my shotgun. Just not that intuitive. Most games give a graphic showing what you have and what you can swap with; not a "left / right toggle" so you can switch between what you're carrying and what you can pick up from your saddlebag. Just odd design.
