Weird crashes at specific locations
Edit: I'm talking about singleplayer.

Edit 2: I tried setting all settings to very low and it still happens, so apparently, it has nothing to do with a specific graphics setting.

Whenever I enter the saloon in Valentine and try to go through the left door upstairs, the game freezes and crashes. The game has also crashed on other occasions but that seems to be random and not too often, but this door isn't random at all. I tried setting the game to DX12 as some people recommended, but this makes it unplayable, because I can't even launch the game when I do that. On DX12, the game says I have too little memory.

The weird thing is that the game runs otherwise completely fine on mostly ultra settings. I get an average of 90 FPS at 1440p.

My specs are RTX 3080, i9 10900k, 32GB RAM

I could just ignore that specific door and the otherwise few random crashes, but I can't fully enjoy the game if I have to worry about whether the game will soon crash or not. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Btw, I use RivaTunerStatisticsServer to cap the FPS at 80, could that be the problem? I thought it would be smoother to have a constant 80 FPS rather than sometimes 80 and sometimes 110.

That's kind of odd with your setup. It's definitely not right. You can try editing that through the system.xml. This is the entry
<advancedGraphics>
<API>kSettingAPI_Vulkan</API>

Replace Vulkan (or whatever you have) with DX12 and see if it sticks. I kind of doubt that'll fix your crash, though.

About the frame limit just turn it off and see.

It seems the problem was indeed the framerate limiter. I'm not 100% sure it won't happen again, especially the random crashes, but at least the door crash doesn't happen anymore.

It's so weird that it happened, because it's just a small room with a bed in it. I'm not sure, but I think the problem was that a person was supposed to spawn in there but somehow didn't when I had the FPS limiter on.

same problem here (3080rtx mobile)
removing frame limiter from Nvidia panel removed the specific crashes
I did try with dx12 yet
