So basically this trinket is a waste of $775? Because I've killed a ton of animals with the right weapons and have gotten clean kills and not 1 pelt has been better than "good"

Yeah it's a waste, you only get a chance to improve pelt. So it's just easier to find actual 3 star animal and get a clean kill.

the animal had to be 3star
if trinket magic works
it will turn the originally 3star animal - from a 2star carcass into a 3star pelt


if the animal was always 2 star - it will NOT give you 3star pelt even with trinket

It's a chance and mainly only helps if you botch killing a 3 star animal. If you don't get a 1 shot clean kill then you will lose stars on the animal, which is where this trinket helps by restoring its original rating.

See that's the problem. I would think this trinket would be fine to work this way if it wasn't 775 dollars...But 775 dollars to just have a CHANCE at helping restore 1 star...is a complete joke

And to me this also defeats the purpose of the trinket. Most people who hunt in this game know how to get a normal clean kill for a 3 star pelt. For me this trinket should help the chances of getting a 3 star pelt from a 2 star animal on a norm. Not just giving you a chance to upgrade the pelt just because you MAY have botched the clean shot.
