Paint it Black Question
Ok, so I tried experimenting a little today with PIB. But unless I am missing something, I don't see much of an advantage to using it. Like, I can aim at a target, press down the thumb stick for dead eye, pib comes on and puts x's on my target, but I STILL have to aim at the head to get the x on the targets head. That aint nothing different than what I always do without pib. I just aim, bump up on the thumb stick to get the head shot, even seems a little faster that way. What am I missing about this feature?

you may have noticed that after every shot you take, the circle around your crosshair will expand, resulting in less accurate shots,

paint it black negates this completely, making your shots just more accurate in general,
+ for people like me who Hate pvp, it's a Great way to defend yourself,
cause my Aim is good (using mouse/keyboard), but my reflexes on when to pull the trigger Suck big time < making me mis Tons of shots without paint it black.

You can mark multiple targets in a row and then shoot 'em.

Yeah i hear ya there. I'm a contractor, my hands are rough and used to different kind of work, so, trying to get my fingers to engage in these gun battles is ridiculous. Fortunately, I didn't come to rdr for that, otherwise i would be disappointed! lol

Yes, i did notice that, but, if i spend the time to scan over the targets and mark them, I can have shot each one in the same amount of time. Maybe my thumbsticks are too sensitive, but moving the thumb stick to aim, i often sweep past the target.

well another advantage is for Hunting, the more you play, the more sweet spots you'll notice to keep animals in 3 star condition,
using paint it black works great to double check before shooting, if you actually tagged the 1 shot kill area,
mostly with rabbits/foxes, when you notice you tagged their feet, cancel the paint it black, and reactivate for a new aiming attempt, untill you get the correct 1 shot 1 kill spot.

If you use a controller with the default aim assist and don't seek out pvp all the time... then I find PiB is pretty useless if not disadvantageous. All based on an individual player's style, of course. With the proper card set ups to pair with them then Quite an Inspiration, Focus Fire or Slow and Steady gives me much more bang for my dead eye.

The only time I personally ever use PiB is for daily challenges that require me to get kills in pvp (pair with Winning Streak for max efficiency) It's better than just using explosive rounds for it, right?
