Missed exotics quest, now can't trigger after epilogue . . .

I'm past the epilogue, and I'm trying to finish the last few items for 100%, but can't seem to trigger Algernon Wasp at his shop to get the quest started.

I searched here, the web, and youtube but can only find that it seems to be initiated in chapter 4, at the mayor's house in St. Denis, if Arthur saves Wasp from choking and he gives you his card.

I have no idea at this point if I did that in chapter 4, or missed it and triggered the nearby NPC player to save him instead, or if that even matters for spawning the quest. I don't have a business card or invitation from Wasp, and no collectibles list, so I'm guessing I somehow missed triggering this.

I've tried the mayor's house and Wasp's shop at different times of the day and night, but nothing changes as far as I can tell.

If anyone knows if missing this in chapter 4 blocks me from 100% now, or if there's some way to trigger it post-epilogue, any info would be greatly appreciated . . .Thanks!

Yes, nobody inside, I can rob the register if I want, and there's a locked door at the back of the room, but that's it.

You can do the mission as John, but I don't know if you have to meet Algernon in 'Gilded Cage' with Arthur first. You'll need to ride by the Greenhouse as John to see if Algernon is there.

Edit:
A Redit indicates the Mission Marker should pop up over the Greenhouse in Chapter 4 and beyond, regardless if you met Algernon at the party or not. I can't confirm that notion, but keep watching the map when you get over that way.

Note:
Upon completion of the mission - ride directly to the Train Station/Post Office and pick up Algernon's Handbill (outside on the wall). If you save, and reload - the bill is bugged and won't show up - meaning you need to carry any extra exotics for the rest of the game. <----yes, that is annoying.

If you have collected the handbill you can continue to mail in Exotics. Algernon will mail back $$. <---you're already rich, I'd imagine - the most important bit is not having to carry exotics you can't get rid of.

Any solution to this yet? I have the same issue, and there is nothing I can search for or see that can trigger the mission.

i found out that if you dont save algeron wasp you arent going to be able to 100% it since you dont get his invite card.

Here's what worked for me:

I pressed L (R1 + left) to check my log / tasks and there was the Exotics quest! I went over to the checklist, collected everything and once I did, the Algernon's AW popped up on the map, telling me that I can head over and hand him the items.

Whenever I tried going to his place in SD before checking the log, he was not there, no matter the time of day or anything else.

It has been too long and I totally forgot about the log and I thought that the quest somehow got bugged for me, turns out I just needed to collect the items for him to show up again.

I did meet him as Arthur (but didn't bring him a single thing) and for some reason as John I don't have his card in my satchel, weird. But the mission was in the log so it all worked. Maybe collecting the first batch of items would trigger him to show up, since I've met him before, it did.

hey, im having the same issue here too.
i missed saving algernon from choking at the party, as i had no idea you needed to/could do so then and there, and am now as john after finishing with epilogue + 90.2% as of writing this
i cannot find any way to trigger the mission as he just wont spawn for me, ive slept for 24 hour ingame twice or more by now, i keep riding by his shop every now and then.

what do i do?? please help as im going for 100% comp, thanks!
