Black screen on start up

Every time i boot up the game i just get a black screen. when i try to close the application it then shows the "are you sure you want to close red dead" screen but if i say no it just goes back to a black screen again. anyone else have this issue? was working fine yesterday

Same problem here, just set up new PC and wanted to return to RDR2.

Same. Haven't played for days and just returned now to a black screen.

i have now found a fix for this issue, just involved changing to windowed fullscreen mode and then you can change back. just hold control and press enter and it should fix this issue

having same issue here
haven't solved it yet, though it boots up well 1 out of 3 times LOL
What the H*** is wrong with this game?
My system is good enough !

Hey guys I think I figured out a solution. I changed my color space* from RGB to 4:2:0 and it works now. If you're running HDR you may want to try that.

Edit: *"color output format" in the Nvidia control panel. For me 422 works too, even tho these cables are rated for 444. So maybe try 444 first, and go 422 if that doesn't work, then 420. Also switch color depth to 10 if its at 8. Good luck!

my fix before was more of a band aid but this does seems to have fixed my issue so thanks very much. Can't believe HDR caused such an issue
