First Person Horse Camera
When riding a horse in first person, the camera will not stay relative to the horse's changing direction. I have to manually track the horses movement with my mouse and keep up with it in order to see where I'm going. Every fix I've read says that there's a setting in the controls menu under first person that fixes it but there is no such setting for me. Any fixes?

There usually is an option under controls

Just remember to change it for both 3rd person and 1st person

it depends on where on the horse you mount the camera

In first person the default camera view tracks where you are looking, not where the horse is going. It takes getting used to, but using the A & D keys to steer the horse and using the mouse to free-look makes things like gunfighting and hunting from horseback way easier for me.

Anyway, KroniK has the solution if you want to keep it locked to the horse . . .good luck either way.

when you have both set to "horse relative" your horse responds to both "A" "D" movement and not your camera
Source : I just did an entire bounty mission in 1st person and tested it

:steamfacepalm:this is the lamest thing. I could only imagine this is done to make aiming on horseback easier, but when weapons are tucked away, at least give us some easy way to cruise through turns while one takes a sip of their drink without crashing into trees wagons and bears, @Rockstar. if only I could @ Rockstar

Hooked up a PS5 controller and, to my actual surprise, in first person while on horseback, the camera moves with the rotation of the horse. Making it seem even more easy to fix and strange that it is not.

Edit: Downside is that one-handed sprinting while steering can only be done easily be done with a rather rigorous change in keymapping on this controller specifically (haven't tried all the layouts yet) but I guess that's fair
