Random Stranger - Horse Race

I've met this guy in a gray suit who propose a horse race. I beat him on the first encounters. On the second encounters however, during the race, I accidentally run over him and our horses collided. We got back on our horses and the race stopped.

I've done so much progress since that event, I do not want to have to reload again. At the same time I was wondering if I miss something that important.

Will I meet him again ?
