Lag/Stutter after every 4-5 seconds

Hello fellow RDR2 folks,
I am facing this issue of lag/stutter continuously. So during game-play the video lags while audio is flawless. I set my graphics to a minimum and the problem persists.
I have the following config:
HP Omen 15; Intel® Core™ i7 9750H;
2.6 GHz >>--->> 4.5 GHz ; 12 MB cache; 6 cores;
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB GDDR6;
16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM
15.6" diagonal FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge
WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080) 144Hz refresh rate
Can anyone please help me fix this?

I play the game on literally the same laptop! There's no lag/stutter on my side, you can check if your current driver is up to date or not. I and almost everyone has experienced a lag/stutter at some point, they're usually because of the latest drivers of different times, this is a good game in terms of optimisation but is ruined by the drivers.

I noticed frequent stutters with v-sync and triple buffering enabled. By disabling them and relying on freesync + frame limiter, the frametimes reduced by almost half. Is your laptop display freesync / gsync-enabled?

I've noticed that the online game went from stable to crashing frequently since the last update.

Not much ago i was having drop frames like i never had before, the problem was a recent update in the game, i think, how did i solve the problem? I changed in the graphic options from Api Vulkan to DirectX 12 and problem solved, i also use all the graphic options to the lowest possible graphic options and Vsync Off (very important too)

And last but VERY important, use Riva Tuner Statistics Server (RTSS) from MSI AfterBurner to lock FPS to 60. I hope it helps to you, because thats the way the game works smooth for me.

I decided to check my driver for an update... turns out for Geforce there is a new nividia driver and the update is in part at least for RDR2. Haven't crashed yet. But haven't played much. May have fixed my problem with their update.much. May have fixed my problem with their update.

After a lot of testing it seems that the game runs better ONLY the first time you play the game AFTER a clean install the gpu driver.
Can someone else check this?

could be dust , the slow cpu marginal gpu , shared ram and it's a laptop , so battery issues ,
try running the game at a lower res and pluged in set to max performance
