Blurry Game...fix?
I have a 3080 and a decent cpu blah blah. I'm running the game maxed out with quality dlss selected but everything just seems blurry as hell. Any fixes available?

Make sure TAA is not enabled.

Turn off motion blur unless you like the console affect... then go into nvidia control panel settings program for rdr2, modify the "sharpen" and "ignore film grain" settings under image sharpening... Less is more. TAA is fine leave it on.
DLSS sharpens the game and TAA is disabled, as is the case in any game where DLSS is enabled.

Running a RTX 3080 OC.

DLSS blurs compared to MSAA or SMAA.

Only fix is to use a newer version of DLSS, helps with blur and sharpening. Or wait until Rockstar updates the DLSS themselves (Maybe in a few years they'll use the current version, but outdated by then)

This is what worked for me! I used the default settings in nvidia control panel and made everything WAY less blurry and 100% better. Thank you a ton.

so, you need to increase 'sharpen" and lower "ignore film grain" or what ? Those settings are interesting me.

I don't see these anywhere in RDR2 3d settings

so i figured out how to sharpen the image in the 3d settings but there is no film grain option

Nope. It's not in my nvidia control panel. all I can control is the sharpening. No film grain slider. but thanks for trying. :ojigi:

I had a lot of ghosting, could be viewed as blur, when I had G-Sync enabled. Enabling "Fixed refresh rate" in nvidia control panel under manage 3d settings for RDR2 and enabling vsync in game fixed that issue for me.

Less is more? You mean like less sharpening and less "ignore film grain" is better?

RDR2 comes with a highly outdated DLSS DLL.
Which does affect your overall in-game visual quality with regards to DLSS.

Google Search: NVIDIA DLSS DLL download
Look for versions such as 2.9.1 or later

You can also use this DLSS Tweaker Tool
https://github.com/emoose/DLSSTweaks

It will help to change these in-game settings as well.
Change them within the SETTINGS.XML file in:
Documents > Rockstar Games > RDR2 > Settings
<ssao>kSettingLevel_High</ssao>
<textureQuality>kSettingLevel_Ultra</textureQuality>
<anisotropicFiltering value="4" />
<taa>kSettingLevel_High</taa>

<msaa value="0" />
<asyncComputeEnabled value="true" />

i have a suggestion for you, do not use DLSS, as its trash for this game due to bad TAA implementation, instead use DL DSR thrpugh your Nvidia Control panel and if you want to see DL DSR sharpness just join my todays Live stream on YouTube.:happystar2022:

Depends on the screen res. Should really only need DLSS or FSR @ 4K on a GPU such as 3080. Surely don't need it on 1080p, not even with RTX 3060
