High Honor playthrough boredom.
So I am trying to do a high honor playthrough and I find it is boring. Always doing camp chores, always saying hi to everyone and making sure I don't bump someone too hard with my horse so I don't get negative honor. It's like the worst style of play I can imagine.

Has anyone else suffered through this or found ways to have fun and not get bored doing high honor playthrough?

if it is not fun, STOP.

The honor system is pointless anyways, when to 100% the game, you must complete acts of low honor. To have the most fun, honor is something i dont even think about.

If you need the achievements that's separate, but from an in-game perspective it barely matters. You have to have some seriously low honor to trigger the bad ending.

So after i got the achievements, i never gave honor another thought.

This is good to know. I thought I had to have max honor to get "good" ending. What achievements require good honor? Not sure how to look those up so I can be done with it and move on and get back to robbing stage coaches, banks and have fun.

The honor is capped at like 75% until Chapter 6 starts. You cannot max your honor before that.

The only achievements i remember tied to this was maxing out honor and donating $250 to camp box.

Try to do all the Bandit challenges before Chapter 5. That way the biggest low honor acts are out of the way.

A tip is, never donate more than $20 to the camp box each time. You get a small honor bump but over $20 gives nothing more, so just keep donating $20 at a time in Chapter 6 while also spamming hello to strangers in St Denis, that will max out your honor on top of any other good acts and of course calming your horse.

Well RIP me I blew so much money to the camp box and been spending so many hour spamming hello in chapter 3. x.x

Guess it's time to rob everything in sight then.

Last question (maybe) is what are the Bandit challenges? I haven't seen any bandits other than the O'Driscolls.

No, no, in the options menu, there is a set of 9 challenges, of 10 levels each. These are critical to the game and it never explains this, R* never explains sh**. Also needed for 100%.

The challenges each have 3 trader outfit sets that boost your stats. You dont have to wear them, you just have to buy and own them. They unlock at like 3, 7 and 10 or something close to that.

You have to do Bandit, Horseman, Herbalist, Master Hunter, Survivalist, Weapons expert, Sharpshooter, Gambler, and Explorer.

Ah okay that explains it then. I'll look into it thank you. Any ideas / tips for doing robberies to get away and not get bounties all the time? I watched some videos and it seems if a lawman sees you just 1 time (even if you kill them afterwards) they know it's you and you get the full bounty. So from what I saw you have to run in, wear a mask / new clothing (different from normal you wear), do the crime, and get out before anyone else sees you. Sometimes it's hard to go in and do that and escape before a lawman sees you.

I did my first playthrough this way, and this stratagy worked pretty well. Forget about the world around you (now, it sounds kind of stupid) but just think about the game your playing as real life, and it gives you the feeling that makes you not want to hurt others unless you need to (and of course its going to get unrealistic at times, such as mass murdering the army) but just try that. Oh, and you also don't really need to do camp chores, however you should just randomly greet people. Just do what seems to be the thing a good person would do when you get a choice.

The bounty system is unfair and wonky. Sometimes you have your face covered, escape the red area and still get a bounty.

What i did was take a couple of the gold bars laying around the map and use those for bounties. Especially the first time when i did the 3 state bounty achievement.

However, without spoilers you might not want to collect all the bars before the end of Chapter 6, probably, unless you need them. If you are unaware, there are like 6+ gold bars in the map, in old burned out buildings, and a train wreck, etc. After you complete the Braithwaite Manor mission there is a gold bar there as well.

Just made a post about the BS bounty system. Lawmen kept spawning ON TOP of me and I always got a bounty no matter what I did. This game is overrated in my opinion. It's too buggy, the bounty system is horrid and online play is a cash grab hacker filled crap show.

I'm going to play with mods for my second play-through and play recklessly af throughout the game and if I would need a high honour for something , i'll just max it out.

If you don't want to "ruin" the game with mods (it absolutely does not for me , infact i have more fun with them) but playing in a boring manner for high honour bothers you a lot just use this method because having fun in the game's core is what it should be played for anyways and mod does just that.

Any good links on how to mod this game? I don't want to have the pain of skyrim style modding. -____-

I did the high honor playthrough on my first play, and I didn't seem to mind the honorable play style. Finding out how OP the law system is, I chose to be honorable. I'm on my second playthrough, and I'm now doing the dishonorable play style. You just gotta be careful how you play that way though, cause the law system is awful with law enforcers.

That's an understatement.

"Oh I'm on a train, in the dark, wearing a mask, I should be just fine." meanwhile

-lawmen spawn and instantly know who you are right on top of you-
