No coop matchmaking except from story missions
or join a posse guild, the regulators are posting here for new active recruits all the time
Also, when you pass people, make some smalltalk. Some people might dig it and might respond or might start following you or something, and then you'll make normal ol' friends.
Like you said in your first message Nonomori, the biggest problem with finding groups in this game is there’s no in-game text chat. Yes, there is voice chat, but the vast majority of players don’t use it. Even if you use a mic, you almost never get a response. :/
I’ve had more luck getting replies from players by using Rockstar’s Social Club Messaging system. You press the ‘Home Key’ to bring up the Social Club interface and from there you can send private messages to individual players (there’s no group chat). It’s a pretty clumsy way of talking back-and-forth, but it’s better than nothing.
Ultimately, this game really needs better communication between players. :(
