Take Leather from the temporary Horse

i cannot take the Animal Leathers from the hunted animals from the back of my temporary horse. How can i take it back before selling the horse at the stable?

Yeah I've had that happen too. You essentially can commandeer any horse and stow pelts on it but you won't be able to retrieve them unless you "make" that horse your own by putting your saddle on it.

You can't. What's your purpose for taking the leather from the horse?

Overall, I haven't used NPC horses much and to be honest I don't think selling horses at the stable is the best way to make money.

Only option is to approach a butcher in Valetine and just sell it, it may automatically remove it since its uses the inventory window.
There is also Pierce in your camp. Leave the horse walk over to Pierce and donate it to him he may give you a few bucks for it
