Dead Eye Mode Not Auto Targetting?

Title.

When I enter dead eye mode the game doesn't do the red X's anymore. So I literally have to use it just for slow mo and fire one shot at a time. Wasting so much time. Is there a setting that I accidentally clicked?

I haven't played story in a while. Did it ever auto target? I thought you had to do it manually.

If you hover over a body parts a red X would appear and it's auto shoot for you. Now I don't get that and I have to just shoot one at a time.

Your Dead Eye updates through out story, you can now manually target enemies with dead eye.

THe red x's it does and then auto shoots for you. I don't get that anymore it just slows down time basically now.

I deleted that comment because it's probably what GhostyOsty said. It's better that way. Try it out.

You have to select your targets. Took me a minute to figure it out. On PC, when in deadeye use Q to select targets. I would recommend learning to aim without deadeye too because its more satisfying.

I'm using a controller to play the game. When I first started playing it worked just fine now it it just stopped working?

Probably one of the shoulder buttons. Try the one above shoot.

I hated auto deadeye. Blasting 4 or 5 shots in a duck was not good. :)

Manually selecting what you want to shot and hit is far superior.

On a Pad it´s R1/ RB. On later levels of Dead-Eye you will also see the weakpoints of enemies (the heart for example), so that you can specifically target and mark those weak-points.
