Skip fishing mission with Jack?

I've tried catching a fish for 3 hours now, watched videos on how to do it, tried different techniques - still no fish and my xbox controller feels like it will break. Can I skip this?

If you fail the mission 3 times you can skip to the next checkpoint. That applies to every mission.

Did not know that. I think I've Retryed Checkpoint on 2 or 3 separate occasions just once, so it hasn't been an issue, but I am just amazed that Rockstar included that skip, honestly.

So many devs overlook simple stuff like that. I wish others would take note. This has been one of the most incredible experiences of my gaming life so far. I might not wait 2 & 1/2 years after release for the next one from them.

I know this isnt what the original discussion was from but I think rockstar is going to make another GTA before they make another red dead. If they make a red dead 3 that is. I love RDR2. And if that is the case it might be.. idk 5 years before RDR3 is a thing.

How do you fail this mission? Not catching a fish isn't an option.

I'd guess either leave Jack behind and bail or scare him by using weapons. You'll find a way.

Solved. Don't use xbox controller, use keyboard and mouse, caught 3/3 fish immedietely. I'll post a thread for this,

Not to be insulting, but I assume you just did something wrong when fishing with your controller. I have no trouble using a controller while fishing. Mind that there is a setting you can change that allows you to reel in by holding down X rather than rotating your stick like a madman.
