Micro-lags
Did anyone experience micro-lags while playing? When I walk there is like a half a second lag that happens each second or two. When I played a year ago I only had to put RDR2 on high priority in task manager but now it doesn't work anymore. It's frustrating because playing that way is not smooth at all.

Ok, guys. I think I've found a solution. I'm not entirely sure if it's a 100% perfect solution because I only played for a minute after doing this (it's pretty late in my country now lol) but these micro stutters/micro lags are gone. What seems to mess up this game is the "game mode" on Windows 10. When I turned it off RDR2 finally looks like it's back to normal, at least I think so because I have to play a bit longer to see if the performance is up to the performance from 2020. Though this "game mode" instead of optimising the game makes it work worse. Kinda odd that it works that way. I don't even know if I had it turned on a year ago but it did miracles now. All you have to do is to type "game mode" in search bar and disable it. Maybe it helps in some games but RDR2 is definitely not one of them.
ok this actually works !!!! i havent encountered any micro stutters like before !!! lol good finding man !!! pin it so everyone can see it

It seems that they updated the game, but instead of making it better, they f*cked up the performance :/

Typical Rockstar. We have no other choice but to wait for a patch that will fix it. I hope they will deal with this soon because I want to play it for the third time and I can't because these micro-lags/micro-stutters make the gameplay uncomfortable.

That doesn't work unfortunately. I tried many solutions and I'm starting to think that maybe it's something in the game engine. Maybe R* broke something when they released a specific patch, idk

Yeah, this GTA Online has completely changed them. They weren't as greedy and ignorant before. Gimme back old Rockstar :'(

Update: Ok, it seems that it's on Rockstar's side as I tried literally everything that could help like reinstalling the game, verifying the files, clean installing the drivers, lowering the settings, rolling back to old GPU drivers etc. Nothing helped. The game still has these micro lags so we'll have to wait for another patch because the last one definitely broke the game, at least for some of us.

Me i have a "lag" issue when i'm on town . when i turned the caméra even at Valentine. Never fixed by Rockstar.
Also i have a question : i'm on 9700k and my CPU usage is almost 80 sometimes . This is "normal" ?

I think yes. The important not is 100% for your cpu.

actually I had this micro stuttering on April or March can't remember, I got this with Vulkan, and when using Directx was okay no problem, this occurred almost one month every thing i try clean rdr2 installation, driver update (except you reinstall your windows it will work but i don't want to do it) until i rolled back my driver to very old one, can remember which version but it is far before year 2021 release, then i tried playing rdo with it and it worked, after that i tried to install the recent one (without uninstalling the old one manually) just updated it in the GeForce and fortunately it never happens again till now

as i remember this micro stutter is an old bug but can reappear because of the new update (maybe i got this in the update of Outlaw pass 5)

Yeah, I tried many ways with the drivers as well as switching to DX12 but it didn't work. What seems to reduce the stutter is the "-cpuloadrebalance" commend but the game still isn't as smooth as it was in 2020. I have fps drops, microstutters are occasional but still there and sometimes some textures are flickering, sort of graphical artifacts on various objects. It's probably the newest patch that caused this because in june 2020 when I played it was as smooth as a butter :(
