Alt tabbing problem.

Whenever i alt tab out and go back to the game it starts stuttering massively and dropping frames like a slideshow. Really wish this game was optimized even after like 2 years of it being released.

Ok no after like 5 minutes it does this. What the hell is wrong with this game.

For me it takes a few hours, but then restarting the PC seems to be the only way to fix the suttering, IDK

I wish game companies would put more resources into actually having the game run well. Red dead redemption and cyberpunk are beautiful but theres no point in playing if i have to play them at sub 30 fps.

Yeah I wish I knew what was doing it, restarting is annoying, it becomes so laggy it's unplayable after a while

Try pressing alt+enter when you go back in. Alt-tabbing out tends to kick it into borderless window mode and cause other issues. Or just go back into the settings and change it to fullscreen again.

i used to not have this issue. re-installed the game a few days ago and now i do have the issue

Disable GameMode + XboxGameBar in WinOS

Go to RDR2.EXE and disable full screen optimization.

Run RDR2 in Borderless Window + DX12; nothing else.
