Pearson Rabbit Request

Hey I am trying to get Pearson rabbit request. Been following guides and yet still cannot get him to give me the request. Did they remove it or change it? Anyone have a good method of getting it to trigger?

Tried Everything - including Underweight and almost dead...

Came back to Horseshoe after shooting up Valentine, almost never got shot, full Health, Stamina and Dead Eye. Tanks almost fullly upgraded - had completed Gambler an hour before starting The Goats and the Sheep. Walked past Pearson (I had already given up - again) and noticed the icon that told me he had something to say. Spoke to him and he told me the tale of Scurvy and the Rabbit Stew.

Left camp immediately, got a perfect rabbit and a Perfect Pronghorn (they were standing almost side-by-side) - and there you go.

Until you get that Icon, don't even bother. Had never seen it before today and have spoken to him hundreds of times while he whistles that shanty...

Haven't seen the jacket yet, but I'm sure it'll look as ratty as it does in the videos I've seen hundreds of...lol

I have been able to trigger it regularly now. However it needs to be one of the first things you do. I have low health and walk around camp between 10:00 AM and Noon. I also have not done any missions yet, except for the Hosea Bear mission and Rev mission on the bridge. No Uncle or Javier missions yet.

I have found that if I advance the story the chances of triggering this event diminish. Do it very early in your arrival at the camp and you stand a better chance. Good luck.

I just got it. I sat at the poker table with red health core (can't confirm if needed but I did). And he just kept putting more meat in the pot and never went around the table. I reloaded 9am save and he was doing more of the same so I jumped off the cliff and respawned. He looked like he was doing more of the same so I moved from the poker table to the tree Kieran was tied to while he was fiddling with the fire and then he went over to the table and whistled. Assuming the post about main quests in a radius stop the quests, it is possible sitting at the poker table after clearing the Kieran quest has you sitting too close to Dutch and that is why it wouldn't spawn. I haven't done a bunch of testing or anything, only second time I got this quest, did it on my last play through. Both times my health cores were low, but my weight was perfect the first time, and average this time. So I really don't know if weight or health have anything to do with it. But if you cleared the Kieran quest, try standing over at the tree away from other quests after 9am and see if it works for you. Also I had both Kieran and Grimshaw come up to me and start talking to me while John was fliriting with Karen over at the poker table so there was a lot going on. Prior to this I sat at the poker table from like 8am to 12:30 and he never stood on the other side of the table the whole time. Just kept cutting meat up, drinking from his flast, and sharpening his knives. I'm happy with trying it 2 times and getting good results. Good luck.
