rob the doctor wtf?

the game told me to go look in the back window at the doctors place and it said cause i saw him doing illegal stuff in the back room i can now rob him.
so i knocked on the back door and nothing so i went inside and couldnt draw my weapon or talk to him about the back room. i tried to blow the back door off with explosives but now ive got a bounty and police looking for me?
wtf am i ment to do?

Walk around the counter to face him, then press RT, and you will aim automatically with the option to rob him. You won't be able to go in with your gun in hand.

but hes just standing inside where he always is

Go to the armored door outside doc house (easy to find) and knock. Somebody will answer from inside and now you should be able to rob the doctor and the other guys in the back room. There will be a new dialogue option to force him to open the door.
And don't worry about bounties. Just leave the place till they stop looking for you, get back to station office (any station) and pay your reward.

You will have a hard time getting out of there with all of the loot without getting a bounty, but if you don't kill the lawmen the bounty will stay very low.

True. When I robbed the Doc I hid in the back room and killed every Deputy that tried to get me. Lots of 'em, they ended up stacked on top of each other in the doorway to the room. My bounty was so incredibly high, I couldn't pay it off, and was hounded by large possees constantly, everywhere I went. So much so, that the game became unplayable. Finally, had to just start the game over from the beginning.

i still cant get in that back room.
if i talk to the doctor he just wants to sell me crap
and if i knock on either of those doors the guy just tells me to go away and then i cant interact with the door anymore

While close to the store owner and looking at him while holding down right click (or whatever button you use to focus). One of the options is "aim weapon", use that to pull out your gun in hte store and aim it at him, from there options will come up about whether you want to rob the owner or the back room (hint you can rob the register while he goes to the back room).

This is how you rob most stores normally, but you only get the "backroom" robberies if you have discovered a "back room" or side business of the store.

lol, I usually get myself into a lot of trouble just by virtue of obsessiveness forcing me to loot every drawer and corpse for fear of missing a treasure map of something, I ran that particular robbery about 15 different ways trying to see if I missed anything.

I'd say turn off autosave and just get used to saving it manually like other games, the GTA autosaves ruined me already in the past, so that was a lesson I already knew going in.

Well, I became constantly pursued and it became impossible to go anywhere. Also, I have tried to give up to the possee before, and they always kill me anyway. Figured with my outrageous crime at the Doc's, and the huge bounty, they would shoot me on sight. Still, thanks for the tip, I'll try that out sometime.

ok i went into the back room and looted the crap out of the place but couldnt get back out with dying and ended up losing more money then i found in the room including robbing the register

Best thing to do with that back room is to blast the O'Driscolls as quickly as possible, take the money on the table and the Schofield Revolver from the box that's also on the table, then scram. You won't have time to loot everything before the law pins you down. I got away with a $1.50 bounty, something like $160 in cash, and said revolver, which before "Blessed are the Meek" is better than you can buy.

Now, if this weren't made by Rockstar, you would be able to take the bar off the inside of the back door and flee out of the back, but hey that's asking too much I guess.

I hated this mission and it almost made me hate the game, and they make you do it so early with so little training or experience with the game mechanics.
Goggle gave me some tips:
1) Dead eye knife throws on the three dudes, before they shoot preferably.
2) Kill or tie up the chick
3) Lasso and hogtie the investigator.

Along the way, I glitched this somehow, so I have it in my log as uncompleted, but I cannot retrigger it, but at least I got/unlocked the revolver.

And ditto the prior poster: I absolutely turned off autosave after this BS mission.
