Yes its known that vulkan is unstable, use DX12 if you can

Thats weird. I built a new Ryzen pc recently with 2070s and vulkan runs just fine. Infact ive only played with vulkan.

Ryzen here as well but I am on a 1070, it crashed on me once just by changing the menu settings when vulkan was selected, so far I havn't had a single crash in DX12

This PC/Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Settings

1- Find file ---> system.xml
2- Edit with notepad
3- Scroll down and find ---> asyncComputeEnabled (line 28)
4- Change the value from false to true
5- Save file
