Small game arrows have a better chance of leaving a 3 star if you didn't get a perfect shot from my experience.
In order to get a perfect pelt, you must shoot the animal in a critical region like the head or heart. NEVER ANYWHERE ELSE. This can be hard to do on smaller animals like the crab.
Their critical spots can be seen in eagle eye in story mode or with paint it black card in online.
Okay I get it. Then the problem is that my aim is bad. Unfortunately it is very hard to hit the rabbits well from the horse even with dead eye. I also don't have it upgraded which means that the crosses get spammed automatically on the rabbit making it very hard to land one accurate shot. I will see what I can do, thx for the info about the accuracy.
P.S.: The pelts on this camp are random, so, sometimes there are foxes pelts too
