Modding this game and the proper (best) way to go about it?

I saw that this game has mods on Nexusmods.com and wanted to know the best way to get started on it. I have Vortex and Mod Organizer for my Skyrim and Fallout 4 games, so I'm not new to modding, but every game is different in what it will or will not do.

Most mods are stating to install into the main folder. Has anyone successfully used Vortex with this game?

BTW, I couldn't care less about the online version of this game and will play story mode only.

If you on Nexus you are familiar with how modding works. As far as I know, MO or Vortex don't support RDR2. Otherwise, it is a case of simply following each mods instructions in order to install in the main directory.

I don't use mods in this game at all, so have no idea how well this will work.

Thanks for the reply and that mod manager never worked for me. Kept getting weird errors from it.

So far I've only found one mod that was worth the download. Most others are just the players' saved games.

ive been trying to mod it for the past few weeks but nothing i do seems to work. Installing scripthook never works even if i follow the instructions to a T. Any help would be appreciated, or which mods to go about using and installing.

You have to download this one (http://www.dev-c.com/rdr2/scripthookrdr2/) and put it in the same folder as the game's exe.

After that, you can find mod of choice and read the directions of how to install. I've personally have the "Horse Holster" and "Restored Cut Content - Quiver 1.6.4".

I have downloaded it and copied the files into my red dead 2 folder. but still will not work when in game. Im sure ive dropped it into the correct place

Try installing with Vortex. That's what I've been doing and it's been working. You'll have to go to Mods, then install from file if the file only has a manual download.

The only thing is, you'll have to run the game from Steam. Running from Vortex doesn't work.
