Jack Marston Thimble Request

I am in Chapter 2 of the story and have done all the missions except "Blessed are the Meek?" (leaving the follow up Michah mission and "A Strange Kindness" which appear upon its completion). I have been trying to get the companion request for Jack's thimble to appear but with no luck. I don't want to progress, as if I do the camp will be packed up and I assume it will be impossible to get the request. Does anyone know if there is a certain time/condition that can get it to trigger, or have I reached a point in the game where it can no longer appear?

Did you already do Jacks mission? I assume it's after that and I assume these random camp requests do not disappear. I wouldn't worry. Make a different save just incase you want to reload. There's always playthrough #2, that's what I'm on

Actually, most camp requests are time sensitive. According to the wiki, Jack will only ask for the thimble between "A fisher of men" and the end of chapter 2. I couldn't find any specifics though.
