Anything To Do In New Austin?

I just finished the campaign. I explored all of the map except only very little of New Austin. Is there anything to do there? Any secret quests or anything?

Tumbleweed has a mini-story about their sheriff. It's not a marked mission, it just starts when you get there and you see him and his deputy with a gang member. There are several missions you can do for him. The Del Lobos gang is there and they have several hideouts. I guess they didn't want to have too much to do out there because within the game's story, John spends half the game in New Austin in RDR1.

Thanks. Is that the final side mission/ mini story in the game? I'd like to do all side quest stuff before I start a new campaign as a dishonorable jerk.

there really isn't anything else after you kill micah (you can go back to the mountain and get his guns off his body) and the credits are done. Outside of the marked missions in the epilogue you're pretty much done unless you want to go for that hunting achievement. the tumbleweed missions are pretty much all thats left.

Also if you didn't finish any of the "stranger" missions as Arthur, you can go back as John and you get different interactions but it's nothing to out of the ordinary.

Sadly this is where R* abruptly cuts you off from an otherwise great title full of potential but not as easy to monetize so they point you directly at their money farm RDO.

Game has been cracked though so there is hope that modders will pick up where R* lost interest and breathe some life back into it..

Wish they just remake Red dead redemption 1 as a DLC for Red dead redemption 2. Half the map is done. But I guess is never happening.

My dumbutt didn't play RD1 back when I had a PS3. After playing 2 I gotta continue John Marston's story. :(
