just keep playing then you can tag enemy manually
BUT later when it allows you to tag manually it`s really useful and understandable - turn it on, press Q as many time as you want and press shoot to execute.
Dead Eye only works if you draw your weapon. Then...
1. Middle Mouse Button or CAPS for Dead Eye activation
2. Q for tagging targets (available later)
It's tedious and not really needed if you play with mouse+keyboard and free aim configuration, but it can add some cool old western movie action into gunfights. Lastly it should be noted that this game is designed for controllers and should be played that way to get the full experience.
- dead eye introduced with autotagging
- manual tagging, left-click shooting exits dead-eye mode
- left-click shooting in dead-eye mode does not exit it and you don't even need tagging
- fatal areas are highlighted in dead eye mode
Also in order to tag multiple enemies in the same deadeye session you have to have a gun that has multiple shots before reload. These are the hand guns. If you have a rifle you will need to go into deadeye and tag your enemy, then fire and exit deadeye to reset it.
Toward the end of Chapter 2 you will get a mission with John "Pour forth the oit" or something like this. After this mission manually tagging multiple enemies will be unlocked. Again though you will need a handgun to do this or it will be one tag, one shot per session.
I tap the center wheel to enable it.
Then press Q to mark enemies.
