Just lost a legendary pelt
I killed a free roam legendary white deer, and while i'm skinning it a Grizzly bumps me and the pelt disappears :lunar2019shockedpig:
And a few days agoI almost lost a legendary carcass after my horse decided to crash near a waterfall :lunar2019madpig:
btw should I skin legendary animals or is there a purpose not doing it ?

You can sell legendary skins to Gus, who creates some coats with hoods out of them.

You can also sell legendary animals to Cripps for a huge amount.
There it's same as with normal animals: the whole carcass is worth more than the skin.

IMO, the coats from Gus are really ugly, with the hood being the shrunken head of the legendary animal.
Those hoods are worn like a hat, instead of like an animal mask.

i suggest you use the Hunting Wagon for Legendary Pelts/animals they dont disappear even when the wagon gets destroyed and they even stay in the Wagon when you log off or the game crashes.

if you want to unlock things, skin 1 each legendary animals and sell each skin to Gus, that unlocks all the unique coats and gives cash. selling a full legendary animal carcass to Gus DOES NOT unlock the coat. sell skin only for coat.

if you already have the fashion you want, then like globefish23 said it is great to donate/sell full legendary animal carcasses to Cripps, they give a ton of materials.

selling legendary naturalist samples to Harriet from sedated animals is not really worth it for anything... unless you are very desperate for naturalist role exp...
and f.y.i. you cannot skin an animal if you already took a naturalist sample from it.
Thanks for your advice guys :wololo:
