So, Defensive mode is not so defensive? (RDO)
I mean when your posse is defensive and your friendly fire is off, you can not harm your posse members in any way. But other players, can still kill you while you are defensive. Last night some random idiot killed me with some explosive ammo while I was in defensive mode, just searching collectibles, minding my own business, not looking for pvp.
Is defensive mode bugged? Or if it isn't then what's the point of defensive mode?

Defensive mode allows you to use the "parley" feature and to "press charges".
Parley will make you completely passive against an aggressor (and their posse) for 10 minutes.
Pressing charges will increase an aggressor's (and their posse's) hostility level, which will show them in an increasingly more red blip on the map, for increasingly farther distances.

Defensive mode isn't like passive mode from GTAO.

Defensive Mode gives you a little Damage reduction from other players and you need lesser distance between you and other players till they lose sight of you (mapwise). I dont know if there is much more for the pro-side of it so far i can press charges even when im in Offensive mode as long as i dont fight back.

Also i dont know if it changed but when in Defense Mode you cant do the Mapevents like Campdefense.

Edit: Offensive players cant "lock on" on Defensive Players so its a little harder to shoot you down ... laughable if you play on PC but still thats a thing Rockstar thinks is good for Defensive players.

Parley and press charges can be used in offensive mode too. It's not a defensive mode only feature. I was expecting defensive mode to make me completely unharmable as I can not do any offensive missions when I am in defensive mode. That should be the point of defensive mode. But I see that's not the case. It's totally useless. Pointless. People can still kill you very easily even if you are defensive.

You're wrong you can press chargers and even go into defense mode as long as you don't attack back. You can go parley in most cases unless you are high hostility.
Hm, guess I've barely been in enough shootouts with other players to notice.

The entire system is stupid, Lol for starts if someone attacks a possie member the other members should not be penalised for defending them. and if they wanted it to be actual fun make it optional or remove the grind.

so apparently according to the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKjPfEpvcck
all the modders need is your gamertag and you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥
they can track you in any lobby and crash you with a press of a button, transfer you to their lobby pop error messages in your game blow you up and all that stuff
Annihilator 13 listopada 2020 o 3:30
Yes can transferm you in own lobby but i think need a friend to follow you. Is happen to me i removed the friend and not is happen again.

I use the defensive mode often and overall I’m happy with it. Generally when people see it they won’t mess with you. At least that is my experience. You can’t get caught with a lasso.

The situation that someone killed you regardless - the defensive mode is not a god mode. You can be killed, it’s just harder. And for this exploding bullets – it sounds like a cheater. I had this situation twice – multiple explosions auto-aim like out of nowhere (both in Lemoyne, possibly the same guy). Thanks to the defensive mode I was only knocked from my horse. But I survived and managed to escape.

I don't think any kind of cheating or modding was involved. It was just regular explosive ammo which you can buy a pamplet from the fence and craft. And no auto aim. But the thing is, he shouldn't be able to aim and shoot at me just like when you can't shoot at a story NPC. Your aim point becomes gray and you simply can not shoot. That's what I was expecting from defensive mode. And now I see it doesn't work like that. So it's pretty pointless.

No because can smash you with horse and you lost the defensive and can caught with lasso.

If it were to work like that, I can see this being abused by people in a way similar to how Passive Mode was handled in GTA. For a time (over there), the main way to hassle there was to fly up in a jet while in Passive Mode. Then hover near their target and turn off passive mode and just blow them away. Flee due to the jet, and repeat the process whenever the Passive Mode toggle was made available again. In this game, if Defensive mode were to work as you say, I can easily forsee people using it solely to get close to people. Then quickly toggle it off just to shoot someone in the back before fleeing and possibly repeating the process over and over again.

I think there can't be such a problem in RDO as switching between defensive and offensive takes 30 seconds. That time can even be increased to 1 minute. Problem solved.

Nahhh, I think it'd still be a problem. In GTA, they tried giving it a little timer as well, but after the first kill, the killer would have escaped for long enough to wait out the timer before going passive and doing it again. Definitely circumvent-able!

Well this is not GTA online (that game is pretty effed up I played for some time) and we don't have flying pegasus horses here. I think it would be okay if defensive mode was really completely defensive.
Or, another option, it can be like this: Once you are defensive, you can't be offensive again until you change session. That would work well too.

Of course they're entirely different games, but similar systems can provide similar results. XD That end suggestion sounds like that would DEFINITELY keep it from being abused, though. :D But I can imagine how it could constantly just be `in the way` if someone actually needed to turn it off again for whatever reason.
