How to change appearance online?

I heard you can do it by pressing left on the d-pad, but every time I do this, I bring up the catalog book. Where do I access this player menu it talks about? I'm new and wanted to adjust some things.

Yeah I had to do this. Although, knowing how it works via controller would be nice too. Isn't this how you basically quick heal like in GTA stocking up on food/re-applying body armor?

Stand next to your horse. Hold the left trigger to get out the circle with weapons and stuff. Press the right trigger to go to your horse, then on the bottom you will see your outfits and you can change them from there.

In order to have them stored in your horse you need to go to your wardrobe in your camp and create the outfits and save them.

You cant change outfits mid game. Only when near the horse from the horse menu and only the outfits that you have stored there through the wardrobe in your camp.

Make sure you have a winter and a summer outfit because being hot or cold drains your health and stamina constantly.

Yes. Only from the horse menu you can change your outfits. And you must have created and stored them through you wardrobe in the camp.
