If RDO is going to be Standalone and worth 5 bucks it better have anti-cheat protection

Because GTAO and RDO are already known as Cheater Paradise games in the world. With 5 dollars to purchase a new copy it will just make things worth. Many new cheaters will flock to the game and old cheaters who are banned will return. Furthermore, their abuse will get so mad because they would not be afraid to lose 5 dollas and just buy another copy.

yeah but I hope, I really do that since this is going to be a standalone game they will treat it like one. Maybe with dedicated servers or ability to host own servers legally and anti-cheat

Rockstar has to invest in Regional DC infrastructures for dedicated servers.
I'm not expert in game development but I'm sure that Rockstar also has to rework the mainframe of the game(& maybe the netcode) and maybe even the launcher itself to accommodate the dedicated servers.
Knowing Rockstar and Taketwo's greed is not going to happen.
But if does happen it could be a turning point for Rockstar and be the next blizzard or Areanet due to it's unique MMO style.
I would say at minimum, it would be on par with with other top-tier MMO shooters like Destiny 2, The Division 2, Star Citizen & Warframe.

As it would completely change the experience as it would be like Division 2 dark zones combined with Fallout 76 MMO sandbox experience.

He does have second strong point. Why pay extra for the accessing internet on a console platform when you are paying for internet access? Assuming that you are paying the internet bills and not your parents.

First of all, PC is always superior. In technology, and even in how it feels to use keyboard and mouse (and not the fake keyboard and mice attachments that you can get for console that are very inaccurate) as opposed to using a gamepad with BORING SKILLless auto aim.

And yes you can use mods on PC in SP games, that is great. You can do so much more on PC than you could ever do on console. PC is limitless. You can also alt tab on pc at the same time as you play. Use hundreds of different apps etc.

Also, PC is cheaper in the long run, even if you have a crazy expensive system. Discounts are better.

And to finish this off, there are cheaters on console too. They are even worse in certain ways as it is harder to identify them and you will probably think that you are not good enough against them and they are regular experienced players.

They will just plug a usb drive with cheats and augments their health dmg and stamina and they will seem like legit players because they are not outright god like and do not explode you and you will waste a lot of time on them.

At least on pc I know when I see a cheater in this game and I either choose to record them or just move on. Oh and they can ddos you all the same on console that is why people play with VPN.

So lets break his post down to make it simpler for you, since you seem ignorant:

1) Mouse and keyboard has been proven many times over the DECADES to be more accurate than a controller, this is why controllers have aim assist, which is a NO SKILL way of playing, the game literally does the work for you.

2) Paying to play online - Dearest console peasant, in order to play ANYTHING ONLINE on XBox or Playstation, you require either a XBOX GAMEPASS or PLAYSTATION PLUS subscriptions, which you PAY FOR, over and above your internet costs. PC does not require this additional payment to play online, yes, there are subscription based services for game access on PC, but these are entirely optional and are NOT required to play a game online

3) Mods in single player games, yeah, why not, some enhance the gameplay and should you wish to use a cheat mod in single player, well, it's only yourself that you are cheating.
Alt-Tabbing is a thing on PC, so you can have multiple applications all running at the same time, how many and how well these all function together purely depends on what your PC is designed to handle.

4)PC pricing: Yeah, initial PC build can be expensive, but again, this depends on how "Future Proof" you are prepared to go, in the long run, PC does work out cheaper as it is NOT necessary to upgrade your PC everytime a new game comes out, as is the popular peasant belief, or even every 5 years or less, like you do with a console. PC upgrades are only required when your PC can no longer perform the tasks you actually need it to do.
Consoles, launch a new version every 5yrs or so now days and then, if you want to play the latest games, you gotta buy a whole new console. PC, well, I just have to buy the game.

5)Cheating on console: Yes this happens, literally, load up a USB drive with the mod menu on it, and there it is, on PC we can at least record the bastards and send video proof of it, can console?

I hope this may have enlightened you a bit, but chances are you just going to "BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH" it and add no counter argument or facts to backup your stance whatsoever.

Well if this is released IT SHOULD LET YOU USE TRAINERS! It is now basically a single player game with online content added, but you are NOT PLAYING AGAINST SOMEONE ONLINE....you are playing against the computer! So anti-cheat is STUPID in my opinion.

I can understand why they have anti- cheat in online mode....but if it is a single player game people should be able to play it however they want without the restrictions of online play....which is why I NEVER EVER play online games...I hate them!

Why? Because you cannot mod them without getting banned. (You are not supposed to anyway....I never have) I only play single player games!
So if this is just another version of online...what is the point of playing it?? None that I can see. If you have red dead redemption 2 you can play online for free.....no need to buy this.

If it is the same online restrictions then who needs it?

Cheaters need it, because all their incitation and joy comes from bypassing this protection, releasing new software to earn money or just some admiration. It is a neverending war of game developers and cheater groups, so I can understand why this difficulty simply left behind by Rockstar and many other companies, as long as enough cheaters and masochistic honest players pay real money.
