An easy thing to look out for when donating skins/carcasses to Pearson, is when you select the perfect animal skin - if it says "donate for crafting", it will automatically be stored until you can craft the item(s) necessary. If it says "donate for funds", it will be sold, and "donate for provisions" means it can only be used as food.
That is correct, you don't have to donate all the required materials at the same time. Like another user said:
Important to check it's a 3-star before shooting, and always aim for headshots . . .
Yes, Pearson stores everything you bring him until you have enough to craft the item.
And if so, how many hits does it take to kill an animal with poison arrow? The big ones of course such as bear or bisons.
This ^ exactly . . .don't overkill with bigger weapons, it ruins pelts.
I use a bow for almost everything . . .regular arrows for boar/deer/black bear/cougars/goats/sheep, etc. Small game arrows for rats/birds/squirrels/chipmunks, etc. Improved arrows for elk/grizzlies/bighorn/panthers, etc
That will bring down most everything without overkill ;)
