Yup - start with GeForce Experience Optimization, then turn down the highest impact items.
(Game default settings are junk)

i run 1070Ti at 2k (1440p), currently at 55 FPS average

Unfortunately all of R*'s "improvements" over the past year have actually made graphics worse (now i have more drop-ins and stutters than ever before, and i lost a few FPS)
Hurray for "progress" ?

i use steam overlap fps and it says 43 for me.
it looks like crap.
can you share your graphics setting screenshot?
i wasnt aware 1070ti is so bad. my friend just got a 2060 and it seems to do much better.
i have a 3840 x 1600 though.

other games are fine for me. i play hell let loose and alien fireteam.
70+ sounds like a huge improvement over my current 40+
What is your goal fps anyway?

I don't think the amount of money involved is worth the FPS increase, the 2070 being about 20% faster.

That said it is your money.

I just play in 1080p and cap most stuff @ 75 ......Im old and this 4k stuff does nothing for me lol

4K on a 1070ti is wishful thinking, 1440p is already pushing it on RDR2.

Resolution 1080p and 54 FPS as maximum and 45 as minimum (It rarely touches 30, but it is very playable, considering the generation of my processor)
