RDR2 on Shadow (VM) - suddenly unplayable since update
Soooo... nobody's gonna talk about the issue on Virtual Machine like Shadow?

This subject has been locked by the Steam Moderation (seriously, R* asked you to lock and you just obey like little slaves, Steam?)

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1174180/discussions/0/2785991200452218401/?ctp=44

Since the update in July, it is impossible to play RDR2 on Shadow PC (Virtual Machine). Of course it worked fine before that. After nearly 2 months of stupid answers frome R* Support "We are looking at the issue and working on it bla bla bla.", the last answer was that RDR2 doesn't run on VM. "You should try it on another device".
Well, I don't have another device, that's why I got a Shadow.

So thousands of people payed for a game a while ago, and suddenly we cannot play anymore because R* changed its mind?

Am I the only one who finds this totaly outrageous?

I'm outraged that someone would stream this game via some 3rd party instead of running it locally.

Invest in your hobby.

Yes, it is quite outrageous. It's not clear if they did it on purpose, but the fact that it's in 1% of games that refuse to work on a VM is quite sad. Their support is completely useless.

It's not always about investing. People use streaming services for many reasons. Either they can't afford a good PC or just for convenience.

Oh no! A stupid troll appears. I feel so bad to have to explain why I use a Shadow PC...

Anyway...

I just dont understand why it wouldnt work though? I use shadow as well, its a cool utility. I played RDR2 on it a while ago and decided to try it again and was having issues with it. The service is a windows 10 desktop that you remote into. The game is installed on that desktop. Why cant it work?

I am just having a hard time understanding the 'technical' problem behind it I guess. As far as I understand shadow, its a desktop in a server rack. I would assume it can work just like any other windows 10 pc.

I wonder what was changed that caused it to not work now. Does Stadia still work with the game? Is this a 'shadow' play to stop googles competition?! I WANT ANSWERS!!!!!!! xD

The most anoying thing are the copy- paste answers by "support". I don't know why there are people at work which are missing deeper knowledge of the software. I'll never received any satisfying answers for my questions.

So it was Shadow that was the 'problem', not the game?

Nop, it was R* that had the issue with some code when launching the game.
