This helped me.
I did the things it said, but I am still getting these micro-stutters.
I ran a benchmark test and the average fps is around 70, so I do not understand why it's stuttering constantly.
Is your NVctrl forced to adaptive and turned off in games menu? high HZ monitor?
Try turning vsync to adaptive but off in games menu. If have a high Hz monitor that is. Been a while since I used 60hz.
Hi Wayz. So what you want to say is If I have a 144hz monitor I should disable vsync and open adaptive sync from NV Cpanel? Bcs It's seems sth wrong since I upgraded my monitor; despite the gsync compatible one. And in my NVcontrolpanel there is no adaptive sync option.
Odd, should be there. but yeah. I dont have a Gsync monitor though, am stuck on 1080p 144hz till I pony up cash for a better monitor.
My vsync option's are (on, off, adaptive, half adaptive & fast.)
I'll try using adaptive vsync in nvctrl and let u know.
I also dont have an adaptive vsync option in nvidia control panel now that i checked.
First, go to graphics settings and change from Vulkan to DirectX12.
After that open Task Manager, go to Details and find RDR2.exe. Right click and set priority to High.
Find Launcher.exe in Details and set priority to Low.
Restart the game and test, it should run a lot smoother. Stuttering is almost non-existent, at least for me.
My games launch in high priority anyway so one less thing to bother with. I was getting better results before this, but no harm in trying something new.
The micro stutter at my end is so faint that it doesn't bother me that much and only really happens when I turn my camera angle to look left or right while riding at speed so I just don't do that often.
Glad something is working for you though=)
I guess the thing that did it for me was changing from Vulkan to DX12.
I don't know why a month ago the game ran smoothly with Vulkan and now it doesn't.
And I know what you mean with your micro-stutter. Mine was almost constant especially when I was riding on my horse full speed, no matter the camera angle, so that fixed it for me.
I hope someone else tries the new settings and it works for them.
Could be as simple as hardware difference I guess or as others I have read say older drivers did not have this problem so is another thing to try if can be bothered.
This is a minefield of info on drivers though that vary from comment to comment so is really hard to find what driver to choose.
SOLUTION
I found a solution for micro-stuttering by contacting Rockstar.
First, go to graphics settings and change from Vulkan to DirectX12.
After that open Task Manager, go to Details and find RDR2.exe. Right click and set priority to High.
Find Launcher.exe in Details and set priority to Low.
Restart the game and test, it should run a lot smoother. Stuttering is almost non-existent, at least for me."
This fixed it for me, thank you!!!
