Wapiti
I also feel for the Wapiti nation, being part Oklahoma Creek myself. Sad place Rains Fall and Eagle Flys find themselves in. But I cannot help wonder why on earth they would build their sacred shrine right smack dab in the middle of a well traveled road?

It was a new area. It wasn't in the middle of a road before. The Americans are starting to colonise the land and trying to kick the Indians out.

LOL I am glad I am not the only one, its not like its the main road between anywhere of note or even a secondary road BUT, everytime I follow that road and then come up over that rise to almost collide into the site I think ....why is it in the middle of the road?

To be fair you can't travel 300m on the map without hitting a road, there isn't enough wilderness or dead space between places in general.

Also I think there is supposed to be a difference between the trails and the roads, trail style paths form over time from people using them frequently enough to flatten out the ground.
