I wish I could take the scope off the rolling block rifle
The rolling block is a very nice one-shot-to-kill weapon, but once the bad guys close in, forget about using it because of the scope. Visiting the gunsmith, I see there is no "no scope" option.

Yeah, because that's what defines a sniper rifle in this game.
No iron sights, no paint it black, in exchange for a lot of power.

I use the rolling block with long scope mainly for hunting, for free-roam events or anything else where bad guys could close in the Carcano with a short scope is much better.

If you want the best of both worlds, use the bolt action rifle. You can use paint it black with iron sights, but it won't hit as hard as a proper sniper rifle.

In Story Mode I never really used the Carcano nor Rolling Block Rifle, online the Carcano is probably my most used weapon.

Then use bolt action.

I think the springfields are intended as the game's non-scoped single shot rifles.

You could be cocky and hipfire it but yeah carcano and rollin block must always have scopes on

I'm pretty sure you can just set it back to the standard iron sights. Or, if that doesn't work, do what I do and never buy a long-scope (short-medium scopes allow you to zoom back out whereas long does not). I keep a long-scope only on my Springfield, the rest of them have short or medium scope. Hope that helps.

rolling block is probably my most used rifle over all-love it for pickin on the pesky lower level players who think that hiding in a bush will protect them at long range in multiplayer lol

No scoping would be cool if they ever cared to do it but honestly I say what other have, just use a bolt or springfield with nice bullets and its basically what you want

bolt action is the way to go in that case , if you support the scope carcano with a midle scope is at top .
